Overview
IP Approach is pleased to exclusively present for sale or license the patent portfolio titled "System and Method for a Buoy Drone and Placement," which includes U.S. Granted Patents US 10,697,777 B1 and US 10,640,177 B1.
The patented technology offers a method for dynamically converting an autonomous sailing (moving) vessel into an instrumented ocean buoy capable of anchoring at precise locations along a storm's projected path. Using real-time storm trajectory data, the system determines optimal positioning to collect and transmit critical weather and oceanographic information. When repositioning is required, a retractable tower stows into the base, the propulsion system re-engages, and the buoy resumes autonomous navigation to the next deployment location, allowing a single platform to function as both a mobile sail drone and a fixed monitoring buoy.
