Technology Highlights
- The invention provides solutions to the intermittent administrations, only for prefixed durations of time and at prefixed intervals or only upon the patient's request which, on the contrary, are the more appropriate administration modes in some cases.
- The invention can control how much drug is released, making sure the right amount is delivered at the right time.
- The invention getter device with activated charcoal helps to remove unwanted particles, ensuring only the right drug is delivered, which reduces side effects.
- The invention device is easy to wear and offering a more comfortable and convenient way to take medication without needles.
- This invention provides a solution to battery swelling, fluid leaking from the battery and extreme overheating which pose a fire hazard.
- In the invention, the material active in the sorption of gases is not directly dispersed in the matrix, but is present inside the pores of a "guest" phase. The latter being in the form of powders is dispersed in the matrix. This feature ensures that the physical properties of the system are essentially invariant with respect to gas sorption
- The invention is capable of transforming a reversible reaction or process into a non-reversible reaction or process. If the dispersed porous material has well-defined geometric features, due to the steric hindrance of the products and/or due to particularly high chemical forces exerted against the pore walls, such that the reaction products are tightly held in the pores.
- The inventive porous material receives a catalyst in addition to the active phase, thus ensuring mutual proximity, which is a particularly clear advantage if the active phase and the catalyst are solid and would thereby have poor mobility if freely distributed by polymeric means.
- The inventive porous material is a zeolite, which itself can act as a catalyst (acid or basic) for a wide class of reactions, thus supporting the reaction of the active phase with the gas to be sorbed.
- The low permeability of the invention's polymeric means to gases allows them to accomplish the function of a barrier to the inlet of impurities into the body of the same means, thus limiting the amount of impurities that are sorbed by the active phase, prolonging the efficacy of the getter system over time and consequently the life of the devices.
- The invention's hydrophilic layer pulls the moisture from the environment, and then it is transported to the getter material as it has much more capacity to absorb than the hydrophilic layer, ensuring that the environment inside the system remains dry. The material of the hydrophilic layer can be of different materials.
- The invention disperses the sorbing material within a dispersant matrix, which is able to keep material particles in a fixed position, while at the same time allowing gases to pass toward the getter itself.
- The invention is potentially capable of solving the permeation of H2O and O2, having an absorber of impurities arranged in proximity to the organic multilayer, and the layer of absorbing material having a larger extension than the deposit of organic multilayer.
- The invention has the advantage of modulating the composition of the deposits of getter material on demand.
- The invention is useful when it is desired to increase the gettering capacity of the system, which is related to the quantity of material with gettering action included in the cavity.
